Double Your Impact Week is here! From September 24 to 30, your gift will be matched up to $1,000 by Outdoor Foundation.

Over 45% of San Diego County’s total land area is made up of green space areas, and yet many San Diegans do not have the opportunity to experience these public lands equally. Kids from “park-poor” communities are more likely to be overweight, to lack a safe and engaging environment to reduce stress and develop social skills, and to benefit from character-building outdoor activities.

Outdoor Outreach breaks down barriers to the outdoors for youth from park-poor communities, providing transportation, equipment, engaging activities, and instructors that represent the diversity of the youth we serve. In partnership with Keiller Leadership Academy, Outdoor Outreach will facilitate an all-day rock-climbing trip for up to fourteen 6th - 8th grade students from underserved communities. Through peer-centered support and positive role models, the experience will provide opportunities for participants to find and apply their strengths, and to develop a new narrative of what they can do and be.

Help a kid right here in San Diego discover the joy that waits for them outside!
